About Us

In 1965 shortly after we got married we purchased our first Shetland Sheepdog, a shaded sable and white bitch from Mrs Margaret Eaves, and she lived to 17.  Our Goldwell line started in 1983 with Highgate Bonny who was mainly based on the Kyleburn lines she was mated to Kyleburn Sweet William which gave us Highgate Golden Velvet of Goldwell (Holly) who had 2 reserve CC's. I mated Golden Velvet to Haytimer of Hanburyhill at Hartmere and she had a litter of four in which there was a tricolour Goldwell Nick Nack Paddy Wack who in addition to a successful show career was used at stud and features in the Tri line of Shelridge.

At Crufts in 1989 under Miss Diana Blount, Nick Nack won his class and Golden Velvet was placed second in hers.

I started judging in 1993 and I have completed the training of judges scheme run by the ESSC and I have been passed to award CCs and had the honour to judge my first Championship show at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Wales in 2016 and I am on the 'A1' Breed Specialist Lists for ESSC, Yorkshire, Welsh, Eastern Counties, and Scottish judging lists. I also judge Rough Collies.
